2011, Here I Come

I am looking forward to furthering my career in 2011. I have set up many job interviews and performance opportunities for the coming months. I have enjoyed taking some time off while I heal from surgery, I am looking forward to visiting friends who live in other cities during my time off. I cannot wait to visit North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and New York to see college friends. It is very relaxing to have a break. I am hoping to secure myself a job in performance so that I can make a living from my passion. If that does not pan out, I will be spending the later half of the year applying for graduate school programs!
2010 in a Nutshell

In 2010 I truly discovered who my friends are. I had a lot of great times, formed many new friendships as well as rekindled old ones. I began exercising and practicing my music daily. Those are steps that needed to be taken for my career and emotional wellbeing. However, 2010 overall was not a great year for me. I had two major surgeries and spent a lot of time traveling back and forth from doctor visits. I am happy that part of my life has passed. Luckily, I had many supportive family members and friends to help me through the hard times and celebrate the good ones.

Melorheostasis

If there were any charity to give a million dollars to, I would give it to a charity that contributes to research of melorheostasis. In college one of my roommates suffered from this tragic bone disease, and while she has the greatest attitude about it, it depresses me very often. The disease is not well known, so often her needs are not understood by her peers and professors. Also, it is unknown among most doctors as well. For the most part, every doctor that she sees can only offer her amputation. This breaks my heart. I know that years from now there will be so many other options for people with her condition, and I wish she would be able to hold off on amputation until those options are discovered.
The Green Machine

I have always driven a Volkswagen Jetta. I began driving one in high school. It represented all that was the beginning of my freedom! Unfortunately, a few years later my brother wrecked my beloved car. Luckily, I found another one for sale in the area, and purchased it soon after. My newer model has heated seats, which is an amazing feature to have, especially on an older car! I love the way it drives, and I hardly have any trouble with it. My only complaint is with my rear window, which has a habit of sticking. In the winter, this is not much of a problem, but in the summer my passengers complain!
