What Every Dog Owner Needs

When you take on the responsibility of caring for a dog, you also take on the responsibility of regular grooming. It’s important to keep your dog clean, brushed, and free from tangles and mats. Dogs with long hair deserve special attention. To groom a dog with long hair, you’ll need the following discount dog grooming supplies: shampoo, conditioner, comb, mat rake, and brush. I recommend that you bathe your dog monthly. Before you bathe your dog, though, it’s very important to remove any mats he may have in his fur. Mats are much harder to remove after a bath than before a bath. Use the mat rake to break up and remove mats behind your dog’s ears and where his legs meet his body. After the mats are removed, give your dog a soothing bath. Then, be sure to condition his coat. After he drives off a little, give his coat a good combing and brushing. Your dog will thank you for it!

Paging Dr. Vaccine Friendly

Today began like yesterday and actually like the one before that. Just trying to find a vaccine friendly doctor for my 6 month old daughter. I started calling my target list of doctors comprised from names that local midwives, yoga teachers, and other patchouli wearing individuals had suggested to me. No luck. Most receptionists at the doctor’s office somehow turned the tables and so I found myself being interviewed for the position of patient. “What’s your insurance? How old is your child? Is she vaccinated? Good bye.” I hope tomorrow I have better luck. I’m calling two doctors that I found on a Tea Party discussion board. If I find success with this lead I’ll have to consider switching parties. I kid.

I’ll Race You

Though it may not seem like much at face value, I had a great time this weekend racing my husband around the park. See, we’re in our mid 30s and just trying to get back in shape after baby’s arrival. We’re also very competitive and love to make useless bets. I didn’t even flinch when he challenged me to run a lap around the lake. I really thought I would win since I’m the runner in the family. Unfortunately he had his tactic all ready and I was clueless that I even needed to have a plan of attack. He sprinted in the beginning and had such a huge lead that he practically walked to the finish line. No matter how bad I tried I couldn’t get these legs to move fast enough and it brought the giggles. This together with his aggressive approach gave him the win, and I had to hear about it all weekend long. Fun.

My pet friend

I adopted a “rescue” dog – a black lab named Crouton – about six months ago. She is very sweet and is always by my side. I take her for rides in the car and she sleeps right beside by bed every night. I started taking her to work with me because she sleeps quietly under my desk all day. I never had a pet before. Having a companion with me all the time has been very positive. I live by myself and I feel much safer having her nearby. I don’t feel lonely because I always have a friend close by! I never understood why people treat their pets as their “children” until I got my own pet. A few frustrating things have happened with Crouton. I discovered that she likes to get into the trash, so I have to be careful to keep the lid on the trashcan. She’s black, so sometimes I trip over her in the middle of the night. Besides these minor things, I like having a dog and I look forward to have her as my companion for years to come.
