Ad retired couples we usually have very light dinner, which is easy to digest and do not feel heavy during night.  I have some boiled vegetables and two ‘Idli’ along with coconut chutney.  Idli is a south Indian steamed rice cake.  Rice and black gram soaked in proportion made to almost a good paste by grinding in wet grinder is fermented for about half a day.  This is poured into almost semi sphere grooves designed vessel for the purpose called Idli steamer, cooked for about fifteen minutes in the steam and allowed to cool down. This is easily digestible with enough fiber and nutrition attained by fermentation makes it an ideal food.  The preparation is cheap in cost made of locally available materials. Really I enjoyed the food.

I belong to the Kerala State, part of Indian Republic.  We call this as Gods own country ( A fine logo to attract tourists ), and is truly a good tourists centre in the South Asia. A good stretch of sea shore the Rain Forests of Western Ghats at a crow fly distance attracts large number foreign tourists.  This give good employment opportunity to local people Government is highly interested in the possible inflow of foreign money. But the recession has made the tourist industry a great blow.  There are lot of youngsters engaged in IT works in India and abroad, who are disappointed with the recession which ahs reduced the income of the companies and youngsters do not have salary hike.

Indian Peninsula

The day in this area, the southern tip of Indian Peninsula has started fine. It was dull, dark and cold with occasional rains during the previous night. Early morning my wife, who is retired from the Government service seems to be cheerful.  Without much nagging she started the morning in the kitchen and has just given me a fine hot tea.  Grand daughter who is studying in first standard just peeped in to my room and decided that not to disturb me. Usually she demands for a computer game, although not yet familiar with the game rules.  Sun has started coming up along with chirping of the tropical birds and crows. Sure, it is going to be a promising day.
