Living With An Epileptic Dog

A diagnosis of epilepsy can bring with it many changes that impact both your and your dog’s quality of life. While canine epilepsy is a very serious condition, and one that requires vigilant monitoring and treatment, it is still possible for your dog to enjoy a very healthy, happy, and active lifestyle.  The first decision you’ll have to make relates to the medication used to control the seizure activity in your dog. Depending on the severity of the seizures your dog experiences (generally classified as either petit or gran mal), you will likely be given a choice between the sedative Phenobarbital and Potassium Bromide. Both medications have their advantages and disadvantages, so you’ll want to consult with your vet as to what makes the most sense for you and your dog.  To minimize the impact of seizures when they occur, be sure to place any memory foam dog beds away from hard or pointy objects as seizures most often occur while the dog is in deep sleep, and given the sometimes violent nature of seizure activity, care must be taken to avoid injury.

Read the Bible Daily

I’m a Christian. I believe in the Bible. I believe in God. I believe in reading the Bible daily. I think it makes me a better person. I find out things about God and what he wants me to be like. I learn about the promises he gave to us and I have faith that those promises will come true. When I get up in the morning I make my coffee, sit at the computer and read my Bible that I have installed on my computer. After that I make an English muffin and  make another cup of coffee. Then I read my many and varied emails. Sometimes I answer some emails and forward some funny things people have sent. I feed my cat and play with him for a while, till we both get bored. He goes to take a nap and I go upstairs and get dressed. I play games on the internet, pay bills, write articles and any letters I owe to anyone. After lunch, pretty much more of the same. I’m a house wife, I clean the house up, sweep and vacuum anything that needs it, I make sure the dishes are done and I plan what to fix for our meals. That’s my boring life.

Hawaii, my dream

September 24, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

When I was eighteen, my parents gave a trip to Hawaii to my grandparents for their 50th wedding anniversary. Then my parents decided to go with them and took the entire family. It was a trip of a lifetime! I really enjoyed it, and probably wouldn’t have come back if I hadn’t left my fiancée behind. I have since been to more exotic places like Honduras and Belize, but even they didn’t leave the impression on me that going to Hawaii did. I told my husband that we would eventually would have to go back to Hawaii. But so far we haven’t been able to go. It will always remain my dream to go again.

The things I like to do

I’m big into writing. I write articles on many different websites, such as Hubpages.com, Triond.com, Helium.com, and ehow.com. I really don’t do it for money, I’ve made maybe three or four dollars on my writing in the past six months. Nothing to brag about. But it’s more of a hobby to me and gives me something to do. Another thing I like to do is study the Bible. I believe in God and enjoy reading the Bible. I read other books, I like romance novels, mystery and thrillers of all sorts. I’ve just recently go into doing crossword puzzles, but I don’t sit here all day doing that.
